A Brief Look At My Instagram Photos – January 2014

Welcome to a new post of my ‘A Brief Look At My Instagram Photos’ series, in which I do a review of my best Instagram photos of the past month. As already explained in the previous post A Brief Look At My Instagram Photos – December 2013, I will share the following information for each photo:

  • Title
  • Date & Time
  • Location
  • Camera
  • Motivation & Comments

For a more detailed explanation on each individual item as well as a general introduction, please read my first post in this series A Brief Look At My Instagram Photos – December 2013. As for now, let’s go and check out my best Instagram photos of January 2014…

Good Morning!

Title: Good Morning!

Date & Time: January 28th 2014 – 08:30 LT

Location: Brussels Airport (BRU/EBBR), Belgium

Camera: Apple iPhone 5

Motivation & Comments: As you already might have noticed, I am a huge fan of sunrises and sunsets. On this very occasion, whilst arriving at work, I got another amazing view on the sky during sunrise and, as usual, I simply had to take a photo. I decided to compose the photo in such a way that it captures as much of the sky as possible, whilst still having a tiny bit of ground in it as well, as it helps to get a better idea of size. Finally, when uploading the photo to Instagram I used the Lo-Fi filter, as it tends to colourize this kind of photos just a notch more.

Boys Toys

Title: Boys Toys

Date & Time: January 25th 2014 – 20:00 LT

Location: Home

Camera: Apple iPhone 5

Motivation & Comments: This photo shows a true memorable moment in life as it depicts the very first two Transformer robots of my four year old son.

Good Morning!

 Title: Good Morning!

Date & Time: January 29th 2014 – 08:30 LT

Location: Brussels Airport (BRU/EBBR), Belgium

Camera: Apple iPhone 5

Motivation & Comments: This photo was taken just one day after the other photo named ‘Good Morning!’ and mentioned in this post. Whilst arriving at work for yet another day at the office, I got a new amazing view on the sky during sunrise and simply had to take another photo (OK, by now it’s time to admit that I am totally addicted to beautiful sunrises). As usual, I decided to compose the photo in such a way that it captures as much of the sky as possible, whilst still having a tiny bit of ground in it as well, as it helps to get a better idea of size. Finally, when uploading the photo to Instagram I used the Lo-Fi filter.

Keep On Rolling

Title: Keep On Rolling

Date & Time: January 31st 2014 – 15:10 LT

Location: Mechelen, Belgium

Camera: Apple iPhone 5

Motivation & Comments: As far as I know, the town of Mechelen does not have many pieces of street art. However, there’s one piece of street art that caught my eye while driving in Mechelen: ‘Keep On Rolling’ by famous graffiti artist Gijs Vanhee, in collaboration with another artist, Mr Leenknecht. As soon as I noticed this artwork, I knew I was looking at something very special. Gijs Vanhee is a very well-known street artist from Mechelen and this piece of art fits his concept of mutants, giant koi fish and octopuses taking over our world. In February 2014, Gijs Vanhee was officially named ‘Mechels Stadsartist’.
