Now, let’s get started by reviewing some of my Flickr photos I uploaded in June 2016, shall we?
- Subject: Brussels Airlines Airbus A320-214 OO-SNA ‘Trident’
- Location: Brussels Airport (BRU/EBBR)

- Camera Settings: 22mm | 1/250s | f/8.0 | ISO100
- Comments: During a unique event on 5 June 2016 organised by Brussels Airlines for fans of the Belgian Red Devils, I was able to take a close-up photo of one of the CFM56-5B4/P engines of Airbus A320-214 OO-SNA ‘Trident’, more specifically engine number 2, which is mounted under the right wing of the aircraft. The photo was first edited in Adobe Camera Raw. Final editing was done in Adobe Photoshop CC. I also used Silver Efex Pro, one of the numerous plug-ins of the Google Nik Collection, an amazing set of desktop image editing plug-ins that Google is offering free of charge since March 2016.

- Comments: Close-up of the fuselage of ‘Trident’, Brussels Airlines’ Airbus A320-214 with registration OO-SNA. The photo was taken during a special event organised by the airline at Brussels Airport for fans and supporters of the national football team of Belgium, the Belgian Red Devils. Five hundred lucky winners of a contest, organised by the Koninklijke Belgische Voetbalbond (KBVB) had the unique opportunity to meet Trident, one of the three Airbus A320’s that the airline has painted in a special livery inspired by Belgian icons (Rackham, Magritte and Trident).

- Comments: This photo depicts the flight deck of ‘Trident’, an Airbus A320-214 with registration OO-SNA. Notice the sticker of Trident at the right hand pilot seat, a unique feature on all of the three Belgian Icons aircraft of Brussels Airlines wearing a special livery (Rackham, Magritte and Trident). The sticker helps to make the flight crew members aware they are operating an aircraft with a livery that might confuse visual docking guidance systems (VDGS) that are being used at major airport all over the world. A VDGS is used to assist flight crew members when parking an aircraft at an airport stand. It helps them to remain clear of all possible obstructions and ensures that jetways can reach the aircraft.
- Subject: Saudi Arabian Airlines Boeing 777-368/ER HZ-AK28
- Location: Brussels Airport (BRU/EBBR)
- Date & Time: June 30th 2016 – 16:33 LT
- Equipment: Canon EOS 7D | Canon EF 100-400mm f/4.5-5.6L IS USM | Lowepro Flipside 400 AW
- Camera Settings: 275mm | 1/500s | f/8.0 | ISO100
- Comments: Saudi Arabian Airlines Boeing 777-368/ER HZ-AK28 touches down on RWY 25L as flight SV112 LHR-BRU-JED. The aircraft wears a special ‘Saudi Arabia Famous Landmarks’ livery. The aircraft was flown into Brussels Airport to pick up stranded passengers of Wednesday’s flight SV116 LHR-JED (operated with Boeing 777-367/ER HZ-AK25), which diverted to Brussels Airport due to a technical malfunction.
